You were always there for me,
Leading me when I could not see,

You heard all of the screams,
And understood all my dreams,

You caught every drop of blood,
Always there as I new you would, [be]

You saw behind the pale complexion,
Saw the scars of imperfection,

You were the one, who really believed,
The single person who knew I’d succeed,

You alone saw the beauty within,
Knew that only love would win,

You were there to keep me strong,
Always around, to help me along,

You made me take that first tentative step,
And kept me going until I learnt to stop,

You led me further than was ever possible,
But still the memories are indelible,

Still I face the pain every day,
Still I remember in every way,
Still I cry when I think of before,
