The Lives Spent

by Afshin   Dec 3, 2004

This poem is dedicated to the 72nd Sea forth Highlanders of Canada Royal Canadian Army Cadets. They used to be a real battalion.

The battle ships rose
their turrets growling rage
as they approached their foes
with a lack of sage

The eagle-like planes
flew bravely in the skies
thinking their enemy was insane
for they looked like flies

The Canadians were attacked
being battered from all sides
as the towns were sacked
and the people were fried

But in the distance came the feared
which the invaders knew of before
and out of no where appeared
The 72nd Seaforths!

Their guns angrily shot
and they pushed their foes back!
as they bravely fought
and destroyed the attack.

The battle had dawned
many people had died
with no more fight to re spawn
as the living Seaforths sighed.

They had won the dread
but had they really shone?
with so many dead
had they really won?

The legend is true
occurring many years before
about a team, a crew
called the 72nd Seaforths
