The paper yesterday

by Mild insomnia   Dec 3, 2004

Where are you now?
The end isn’t as fun as the start,
It’s just tearing me down,
When we are apart.

I never caught the news on tv,
And I missed your calls baby,
Now there’s no signal, when I ring.

In my heart,
I know something’s wrong,
It’s so hard,
Cos I know that you’re gone,
In the dark,
The night just lingers on.

And in the paper yesterday,
It says you passed away.

Placing flowers by your name,
Kneeling down upon your grave.

If you hadn’t got that train,
I should have gone down to see you instead,
Then you’d be home and still safe,
But I didn’t think ahead.

How could I have possibly known?
That you wouldn’t make it home?
And now I sit here, all alone.

In my heart,
Your soul lingers on,
It’s so hard,
Cos I know that you’re gone,
In the dark,
I know something’s wrong.

Placing flowers by your name,
Kneeling down upon your grave.

And in the paper yesterday,
It says you passed away.
