The winner takes it all!

The winner takes it all

Don’t know what to say,
You were in a deadly game,
And if you couldn’t play,
You should have stayed away.

The stakes were as they stood,
Arguing does no good,
Object if you would,
But I don’t think you should.

The winner takes it all,
And I run off with the ball,
In a playground long ago,
Your victory I stole.

It wasn’t your day,
Still I cannot complain,
And to your dismay,
I’d practised everyday.

Kicked your ass fair and square,
I still remember your stare,
As the referee declared,
He said that you looked scared.

And I ran into a wall,
The football broke my fall,
Now I am standing tall,
The winner takes it all.
The winner takes it all,
And I run off with the ball,
In a playground long ago,
Your victory I stole.
