Day by day

by Poetically Speaking   Dec 3, 2004

Do you want to grab that book?
Do you want write those words?
Do you need my help friend?
Do you hear the birds?

Let me in my friend
I can help you decorate
I can move this here and set you straight
You feel it don’t you
The rumbling inside
The tress blowing
The rain falling
You need a place to hide

Lonely I know it's what you are
Come on my friend, step outside
Have a cigar
The world is free if you pay the price
Living for yourself
Taking a chance
Rolling the dice

Do you really need it?
Is it something that will set you straight?
Momma always said eat the broccoli on your plate
Don’t be afraid dear friend; we're all in this alone
From birth to death, all is unknown

It won’t change, no matter what you do
Look to the east, it will be clear to you
Out on the sea, the ships float on
Day by day, all is long
Take the chance, do it alone
If you must

Life’s a gas, life is fate
But it won’t last
What’s to lose?
Who’s to say?
Live your life, day by day
