Never say never? or Never say forever?

We once were friends, but now we're not
What did I do to get us to this friendship knot?

We used to hang out and laugh together
But know we both seem under the weather.

You say to leave you alone when I ever talk to you online
After you tell me that I would either cry or whine.

I miss the old times when we said we were going to be friends forever.
But now I know that forever could mean never.
