The 'Sin'.

by ~Bloodied&Broken   Dec 4, 2004

“Murder!”
Cried her mother with eyes held in black
There stood her daughter
Holding tears back.

“No!”
She cried out, she did not believe.
It wasn't her fault
That now she grieved.

Since then,
Abandoned and abused she lay
Lay upon the floor
Each cold, dark day.

Her mother hated her
But kept her in,
Torturing her
To take away the sin.

Each day after beatings
Shed crawl to her room
Lay in tears
From death she’d assumed

She'd bring out her weapon
Of whatever she found
Slicing the red
Screaming without sound

All because…

Her father had died
When she was about eight
She saw his blood
Five years ago, to the date.

Her mother always blamed her
She was left with the guilt
Was it her fault…
From a mistake he built?

He was the drunk one
That drove and that crashed
She only sat in the back
As his blood gashed.

Now her mother blamed her
her wish was to get away
To get to death
To escape one way

Each day
She wished death to take the sin
The pain of life
From her father and gin.

For Rachel- Dont give up!

I really admire that stance. Your words were tragic and powerful, and I also liked the second line,"
Cried her mother with eyes held in black"

    symbolic imagery, good job
