These pretty colors,
Oh so pretty.
The purple and the blue.
Kayley hates these colors,
Her mommy hates them too.
Everywhere all over her body,
Just like a tatoo.
Her daddy makes these colors,
Although Kayley can not tell.
Her daddy hits her mother,
Her daddy isn't well.
The teachers ask her everyday,
How'd these come about?
Kayley tells it the very same way,
Saying I like to play around.
Telling she falls off her bike,
yet theres no scratches there,
Saying she fell down the stairs,
Thats why it's purple everywhere.
Making excuses for daddy,
What Kayley does best.
Trying to protect Mommy,
Yet Kayley can not tell the rest.
Knowing that he hurts her,
Yet can not tell a soul.
Kayley knows he loves her,
With her pain she pays her toll.
He screams and yells,
And hits and shouts.
Kayley can not tell,
As her mommy takes her out.
To the babysitter Kayley goes,
Late this Thursday night,
Deep down Kayley knows,
Something isn't right.
As mommy goes back home,
And tells daddy to come out,
Mommy grabs the gun,
And shoots daddy without a doubt.
Kayley knows Mommy loves her,
And Mommy knows whats best,
Kayley knows daddy hurts them,
And this is for the best.
Daddy can not hurt them no more,
As mommy sits in jail,
Kayley still loves her mommy,
As she sits and tells her tale.
To anyone that will listen,
This is what I say,
The purple and the blue,
I hate these colors,
My mommy does too.
All over my body just like a tatoo
I love my mommy to the death,
I loved my daddy too.
This is what he deserved,
My mommy deserves it too.
