Broken Promises

by Broken_princess   Dec 4, 2004

Look at me and tell me what you see
There are tears in my eyes, but there aren’t suppose to be

You promise a love so perfect and deep
You promised my heart you would always hold and keep

I’m suppose to feel safe and warm when you’re around
You said you would treat me as if I’m wearing a crown

Promise aren’t made to be broken
Just like secrets aren’t made to be spoken

You say you could see through me but that must be a lie
Because you would be able to see I’m all torn inside

Look at me harder, look past my face
Look inside my soul, which you made a messed up place

I can’t go on, knowing you don’t feel
That the pain you caused will never heal

My heartbeat survived on promises you said
But it no longer beats, its as if im dead

Please forgive me I wont believe you no more
Im picking my heart up from the floor

I’m taking the memories, and the broken promises far away
Just look at what you did, that all I want to say
