Dreams

Wishes are rarely granted
and dreams almost never come true
and the things we want to do in life
are the things we can never do

if you make a wish
on a shooting star
don't set your mind too high
because that star is very far

and when you realize
your heart's on fire
you'll never be the one
who gets their true desire

but don't feel bad
for i know too
just how hard it is
to lose things close to you

like i said you
can only dream so far
till the flame burns out
on that special star

don't wish to long
don't use all your heart
because wishing will
only hurt you from the start
