Who Are You?

by FTS Miles   Dec 6, 2004

Who are you
To break my mournwatch,
To wrestle my sorrow
In your embrace and
Hold me tight until
The bile in my soul
Has seeped onto the
Waiting bedrock,
And the earth filters pure
What I could not?

Who are you
To offer me a circle
That is complete
When all others have
Promised no taint
But regardless broken
All the rings and reams
Fashioned by my heart?

Who are you
That while others
Crumpled or forgot their path
Before my lightest footfall
You bear my charge and storm,
And halt my stampede of ache
With a simple fingertip
Upon my lips
And a cradle of gentle warmth
For my weary crown?

Who are you
That your lips dare speak
Both passion and truth in union,
And your eyes do not
Fall the wayside
When the rumble of my gaze
Has trembled others' most ornate tales
And their lashes have collapsed
To hide from compelling forces
Threatening to reveal their
Stubborn resolve to meander?

Who are you
And why does my raw,
Broken essence not
Scream in agony at
Your permeative caress
When the mere proximity of others
Makes my soulskin prickle
And flinch and flay
From the abrasion of their clawing?

Who are you
That you can peer
Within what spirit remains me
And find something worthy
When I can remember
The moment my last light
Embered into ash?

Who are you
That I know you shall
Not break me,
But shall instead help
Quarry the stone
That will restore my strength?

*sigh* The professionality of it astounds me. Seek publishing now, and gain the fame you so justly deserve.
