My protector

by redscream   Dec 6, 2004

Maybe it is a blizzard, or just a
thunderstorm, but it keeps falling
so hard.
The rain won't stop anymore but
sometimes it lets up and the
clouds go away for a little bit.
When it rains really hard, I reach
for my umbrella.
It is always there when I need it,
keeping the rain from drowning
me.
My umbrella can't make the rain
go away, though it trys with all its
might.
It is my protector and my security
blanket; for even when it's bright
out, I take it with me so I will
know it is there.
Even at 2:00 in the morning, when
it is raining so hard I can't see, it
never minds coming out to protect
me; looking beautiful and shining.
Maybe one day it will go away, or
break from overuse, but I can still
believe in forever.
