A NEW JOURNEY

by Saige   Dec 6, 2004

I wander through this house
that no longer feels like home.
No matter which room I venture,
no matter how far I roam

This house is neither cold nor dark,
no dampness do I feel.
This place no longer is the same,
without your warm appeal.

I’m about to travel distance far,
to a new home on that mountain side.
Excitement races through my heart,
Smiles on my face a mile wide.

Some may feel I’m running
Saying I need to stay in place.
Accept the fact that you are gone
No longer will we embrace.

I realize the fact that you are gone
final closure I soon shall face.
In the near future I will travel
to your everlasting resting place.

Now on to new beginnings,
the way to a fresh new start.
With memories, hopes and dreams,
wrapped deeply in my heart.
