Scars

by Ariah Kaltesh   Dec 6, 2004

“I have a friend…” is always how it starts
When you have a problem you don’t know how to tell
If someone should find out it’s you, of course you’ll fall apart

Some days you think you’re fine
Than others that proves wrong
But when friends offer you help, you always decline

They know what happens when you’re alone
And though they say nothing you know they do
So why continue saying you’re accident-prone?

You can’t help it; you know you’re unstable
But you can’t bring yourself to admit it
So, “I cut myself on the corner of the table.”

You’re convinced you’re the only one
No one would understand
You can’t undo what you’ve already done

So, walk through this illusion
See what isn’t there
Maybe someday, you’ll find the solution

But until that happens you’ll continue to scar
Knowing you can’t stop
Just hoping you don’t go too far
