I miss you

by Mild insomnia   Dec 6, 2004

I know that life goes on,
I know that yours is gone,
I understand my pain,
I understand your strain,
I’m sure that you’d been strong.

And yes, you have your own choices,
You decide your life,
And I wouldn’t want to stop you.

But I wouldn’t want to have been the only thing keeping you here,
If it means keeping you in pain,
Somewhere you don’t want to be.

So I’ll stand in that graveyard,
Every Wednesday after school,
I won’t be cutting across it with you anymore.

But I’ll think of you,
And wonder if you ever think of me,
Or if you can hear me.

Immortality,
You live on forever in my memory,
I won’t forget the times you spent with me,
No.

You never said goodbye,
I never got the chance,
To hold your hand and help,
If that would have made a difference,
Could I have stopped you?
Would you have wanted me to?

So here I am today,
Out in the rain, not caring,
But placing flowers beside you.
