Mankind's Hatred

by Aaron L   Dec 7, 2004

Disconnecting from everything all around,
wrapping our dying hearts in this frost cloaked gown
Traces of virus silenced only by the world's selfish themes,
silence of eternity abide with this mind, flawed by dreams

Mournfulness reason cuts off life and begins to drown,
inside you and I, merciless hate won't back down
Contagion seeps through the worlds populace, unseen,
destroying and violating, it's hates routine

The shadows in this sad place seem to drain the soul,
such as an act, with all playing the mindless role
The taste of cruelty toward each other, is all but sweet,
Sight of their implicit heroes, confined to steel and concrete

The concrete will soon splinter, as steel will corrode,
and blood will create rivers, where hatred once flowed
The disrupted empires that once stood in our place,
remind us of the failure, caused by the human race

But nobody remembers the mercy we have never shared,
the end of our society is coming, thoroughly undeclared
Within the shadows, lies an evils cold embrace,
a sad, relentless creature, with mankind's fragile face
