My virgin lips(ballade)

by Megha   Dec 7, 2004

this poem is a Ballade
a french form composed of 3 stanzas and an envoy of 4 lines with the last line of each stanza a refrain. the rhyme scheme is ababbcbC, ababbcbC, ababbcbC, bcbC.

i wanted it to be just right,
and treasure it till the day i die,
i dreamt of its magic every night,
till one day he kissed me goodbye,
and floated with me into the sky,
where into my first kiss we dipped.
but now that it turned into one big lie,
i wish he could return my virgin lips.

this stingy feeling i wish to fight,
to believe that its nothing great i try,
but i wished for it to be just right,
and since it wasnt it makes me cry,
i wish to make whole the eaten pie,
i wish that time turns and flips,
i wish i hadnt kissed that guy,
i wish he could return my virgin lips.

in my memory it stays a clear sight,
when our lips locked after eye met eye,
the moment seemed happy and bright,
but now that he turned out to be so sly,
i wait for my tears to stop and dry,
each time i think,my heart freshly rips,
and i wish that i could break that tie,
i wish he could return my virgin lips.

everytime i stop and wonder why,
everytime the reason from me slips,
everytime my heart gives a teary sigh,
i wish he could return my virgin lips.
