What to think..

by Nookie   Dec 7, 2004

( this is a poem i wrote strictly from the heart, if you think you know the answer and can convince me, get ahold of me )

Sometimes I shout at God
I ask if He's a fraud
Occasionally, I dare
To swear during prayer

He never speaks to me
Maybe its me who can't see
What is it with you people?
Why go to church? Why the steeple?

You make God your life
Put God above your wife
But what if He isnt there?
What if He doesnt care?

Every Sunday go to Mass
To me, it seems like a class
You appear to be just a slave
To He who has defeated the grave

Do you believe everything He said?
Or does it bother you, in your head?
For answers where do you look?
Ask your God? Or just His book?

Are you sure if He is there?
Do you even know where?
Maybe He lives in Heaven above?
It fits so well, like a glove..

I guess sometimes He's the angry one
Until, I guess, He sent His son
Will He flood the world again?
Will He rid this place of sin?

Does He hate all of His people?
Despise His church? Despise His Steeple?
He sits up there, way up above
To shower us sinners with His love

But which religion could be true?
I could be Christian, or maybe Jew
Don't you believe in the same "One"
Just argue if He sent His son?

I don't understand religion, does anyone?
Is he the Father, the Spirit, or the Son?
What does He look like? When will I know?
Maybe when the Angels fall down like snow

Where does truth end? And the lies begin?
Don't just tell me about my life of sin
I want the answer, to my question
Is there life after death, is there Heaven?

i put this under dark because some people would consider it evil, or blasphemous..hope you liked it, and if you have an opinion leave a comment, good, bad, neutral anything. either way, comment and vote please.

Wow. Great write, first off...now my opinion, I don't have an answer for you, no one should have an answer, everyone has different thoughts. I have different opinions, Sometimes I believe he's up there and then theres times I believe he is and he's doing this to our world, and sometimes I don't think he even exists. Depends on my mood I guess...But no one should be able to give you a final answer...sorry this is long. Wondrous poem xxxxxxx

well often times i have felt like you do Nookie but there comes a point in life when you just know the answer but its called faith why we believe. i do not go to church nor do i read a Bible (full of contradictions) but i have my Lord to look up to...never had a real religion, my whole family is basically Baptist but i try to stand out above em and find me not who they want me to be. Only you can say what you believe yet the real answers are in that heart of yours.
    love heather
ps i dont think u r evil or whatever for writing this...i think u r a normal person w/ questions & that is okay nookie...we all misunderstand things at time
pss i encourage to read "God must not exist" by Mark Spencer or watch Passion of the Christ...those 2 things have made a few Athesist friends have a new outlook on life. maybe it will help

God bless you my dear. keep up this tremendous talent. if u keep writing great ones like this & you often comment me you will be the newest edition to my faves list. hope to c u there. loves

I really like ths poem because i find myself doubting god all the time. i think that church is a joke and i dislike organized religons. in my opinion religions are made to keep people in line and people for some reason like to believe that there is a higher god and that they will have somewhere nice to go when they die. and the reason why people like to believe that god takes away their "sins" is because most people dont like living knowing how messed up they really are.

excellent poem. i really enjoyed it, very captivating. as for an answer to your question, well...im not the person to give you that answer. i personally dont believe in God, and i never have, nor ever will. i do believe that the answers to some of life's more difficult questions lie within one's self. so look deep inside to figure out what you think. you have amazing talent, keep it up!
PS: if you have some time, come check out my poems. it would be greatly appreciated. thankx!\
    Lots of love,
