Scenes Of a Restaurant'

Scenes of a Restaurant

Children play
women weep
steel grits on concrete.

life walks slowly to the womb,
only to be cast into a tomb---

a splash of powder, a sound of thunder
swallows drop
---swept away---
- - - - - - - child's 'play.'

brick alleys filled with purpose
falling shadows on afternoon skies
children saying goodbyes.

struggling young men
hidden, unheard thoughts
abruptly ended lives.

Broken dishes
Aborted grandmother wishes
stolen lives
children's goodbyes
ended tries.

sadness of times

waitress gets dimes
