Too Late

You started out as just a friend,
and it progressed further.
I tried not to fall too hard,
but you were such a charmer.

The way you make me laugh,
and the way you make me smile.
I told myself not too fall fast,
but then after a while . . .

I started to like you,
and I let you know,
You told me you like me too,
our friendship had grown.

Then you asked me out,
and I said yes.
That was one great month
I will never forget.

Now your moving,
and we’re back to being just friends.
What hurts even more
is I miss being your girlfriend.

I still really like you,
more than I thought I would.
I promised myself I wouldn’t fall too fast,
but it felt so good.

Now I’m so close to being in love,
and it’s to late to say,
but I’m really going to miss you,
when you move away.

I just wish you wouldn’t move,
and I wish I could say,
how I really feel bout you,
but I’m afraid its too late.
