Riddle Of The Rush

by ntv650   Dec 10, 2004

Taste of sweat on the edge of my lips
Cold, iron flavoured breath

Leaning over, ears tuned, heart berserk
Patience, binding power and strength

Hands freezing, trembling, no pain felt.
Goosebumps up my back and neck, teasing.

Muscles churning, bones revolving.
Legs swinging, charging body bent

Lungs filling up full of liquid lead
Eyes loosing focus ahead

Shouts, screams in and out my head
Strain, reach inside, dig out the rest

Feel the adrenaline, undergo the mental test
Nearly there, few steps left.

Catch me, not today dear friends
Maybe another time, farewell until then

Body charging, neck and back bent
One deep breath, everything else left

Stand up straight, hands behind head taking slow deep breaths
Let it wash over me, such a light head

Reach, stop, relax, not too quick
Nearly there, perhaps next time instead...
