All she wanted

Tears were streaming down
her beautiful face
she never used to frown
because she was in a happier place

She claimed her life
had no meaning
she looked at the knife
and asked, "why should I be living?"

Where did it all go wrong?
It went from happy to sad
from smiling to crying
How did it get this bad?

All she wanted
for so long
was for someone
to come along

Someone who cared
to help her along life's bumpy path
someone to hold her when she was scared
to cheer her up and make her laugh

She waited and waited
but no one came
so away she faded
because she thought no one cared

They never got along
her loved ones at home
so the love they really had
wasn't ever shown

A simple 'I love you'
from someone who cared
could have made all the difference
and one life would be spared...
