Battled Love

by Aya   Dec 11, 2004

The World War has ended
But deep within me
My battle isn't finish

I abandoned my home
But I never left my heart
This heart will die for you.

The fight has started
Smoky was the scene
Guns haunt for death.

I attended this war
With my canteen empty
My tongue was dry.

I front-lined.
An enemy shot me
The weapon blew upon me.

My arm was struck
I bleed.
My lungs still gasp air.

My body and mind
Felt uncertainty
Then I knew, I was restless.

This vision
Started to blur
I wanted to lay.

My entireness
Just wants to surrender
But I should not.

If I lose this combat
Then I lose you
I'll be worthless.

So I battled again
And achieved casualties
Who barred me from you.

Wounded and pained
These sacrifices, I can taste
I will never dishonor you

I won't rest
If freedom is what you aim
No one can harm you.

I'm a soldier of you,
You're my country
For you, I must fight.

Sounds melancholy. yet imbued with a sense of honour aswell. A few grammatical mistakes (like "strucked" rather then struck, "gasps" when it should be gasp) but I really liked the way the verses were set out and the simplicity of the lines. Well done.
