Exit

by Steevens   Dec 11, 2004

I sit here writing by the lighting of an exit sign.
My mind is reeling, got the feeling, it's the end this time.
I only wonder if you'll discover the truth one day.
I'm really hoping your mind is open to accept the faith.

Why can't you just open your heart?
I can't make you want to start.
Why don't you see it's what you need?
I can't fulfill your every need.

I see the faces, pretty faces looking back at me.
I'm not worthy, not deserving, of their love for me.
I'm only human, there's no room in this world for me.
I can't take it, I won't make it, can't you see?

Why can't you just open your heart?
I can't make you want to start.
Why don't you see it's what you need?
I can't fulfill your every need.

I sit here writing by the lighting of an exit sign.
And I wonder, yes I wonder, if this exit's mine.
It doesn't really matter, it's not this matter that's the point.

Why can't you just open your heart?
I can't make you want to start.
Why don't you see it's what you need?
I can't fulfill your every need.
I can't fulfill your every need.
