Foolish Pride...

by Sarah-Louise   Dec 11, 2004

You told me you loved me,
From then on I knew,
It wasn't just a crush,
I was falling for you.

Our time was so perfect,
I worshiped your presence,
But then you shattered my dreams,
Showed what love represents.

Pain, torture, anger,
All I had left to feel,
After what you had told me,
And I believed you were real.

You promised us friendship,
What a pathetic attempt,
You had hold of my heart,
And I'd given consent.

You stole all relationship,
We had left to hold,
You left me, Ignored me,
I was thrown into the cold.

Now when your friends,
Question my name,
You say, "Oh, she's no one",
Such a cruel thing is shame.

I don't believe I believed you,
I trusted my heart,
You're ashamed to have loved me,
My world's fallen apart.

As each day does pass,
I still think of you so,
Even though you don't love me,
I just can't let you go.

You'll never know the feelings,
I still have inside,
Because all that you're left with,
Is you're own foolish pride.
