I hear the music

by Robyn Thomas   Dec 12, 2004

I hear the music
On your dying day
And as I cry I'm thinking
"Why must it be this way?"

I loved you like no other
I'll never be able to find another
Like a father to a mother
Like a sister to a brother

I saw you hanging by your neck
I thought it was just a joke
But then I saw you: you were a wreck
I hadn't realized you had begun to choke

If only you hadn't tightened the noose
You didn't know that the branch wouldn't hold
As my gramma would say: "You silly goose!"
But this was much, much more than that cold

I hear the music
On your dying day
And as I cry I'm thinking
"Why must it be this way?"

Wow this was avery deep poem. I had the same thing happen but my friend really did hang himself. I am sorry you had to witness it, and I wish you all the best.

This was based on a true story. A friend choked himself to death because he was helping on a halloween display. he thought it would be scarier if people thought he was hanging, but the branch with the rope swung up and choked him.

**In memory of Caleb. You will always be remembered**
