When you look around,
you see people smiling,
you see people laughing,
you see people happy.
but how are they feeling inside?

do they feel like swearing?
do they feel like screaming?
do they feel like crying?

when you look around how do you see people?
do you see them as they really are?
or do you see the mask they put on to hide their pain?

do you see their hurting?
do you see what they see?
do you hear what they hear?
do you feel what they feel?

do you see their fake smiles painted onto their fake faces?
do you see them drowning in black torrid depression?
or do you see them genuinely happy to be around on this hell they call earth?

when you look at me how do you see me?
do you see me smiling?
do you see me laughing?
do you see me happy?
but how do i feel inside?
