Defiance

by Ian Robert   Dec 13, 2004

God, of gods,
Hear my cry,
Do you hate me.
Will you trust me,
With these stone cold eye's.

Lord of the skies,
Why do you let your tears collide,
Into our world,
Its Freezing outside,
Spiraling within the compacted snow,
The frozen tears of angel who lost her halo.

Enchantress of the forest,
Hidden within trees,
Help this little one,
Learn how to please,
Let her unfold her dark wings,
And shake off the coal,
Nesting inside of her feathers,
Her spirit remains cold.

Executress of the flame,
The heat of your staff,
Melted the passion,
So Christ took it back,
And dug it deep within,

So hear my cry,
God of all gods,
Let the girl survive.

again, great job. i love your descriptive words and the beautiful and dark imagery. I have to admit, the beginning started out just alright, but then the stance, "Enchantress of the forest..." i Just thought the lines after that were absolutly beautiful. The symbolism is lovely, as always, and I love the image of a girl w. dark wings and ,"The frozen tears of angel who lost her halo."- i absolutly love that line. great job, as always
