So cold

by Kelleye   Dec 14, 2004

I look out the window into the cold, The glass seperates it from me, but I can still feel it, it's in my heart. I see the rocking chair swaying in the wind, the old lady who gracefully sits on it, knitting quietly to herself. Shes bundled and warm, her smile is bright and cheery and her cheeks are rosy pink. And here I am, inside with the heaters on, and I am so cold. I see my little sister outside on the swings, my mom behind her pushing her and laughing, they're both smiling. I look down into the brown liquid in my hands, the hot chocolate with marshmellows floating around and still I am so cold. My dad starts the chainsaw, I can hear it rattle, and slowly he starts chopping down the firewood. I look at our fire already made, in the living room, burning bright, with flames of red, orange and yellow. I pull up my sleves and look at the newest addition to my collection of cuts, and I remember the cold razor I used to put it there. And a cold chill runs through my body, this is why I am so cold.
