Invitation to Love – Part 7b – Conversation With Baby

by Amy   Dec 15, 2004

Mama loves you, Darling, do you know?
I’ve dreamt of you being in there
From the time I was a little girl
I’ve mentioned you in every prayer

I don’t care what color your hair is
Or if your eyes are green or blue
I don’t care if you are short or tall
What matters is that I love you

I can hear your loving words
Saying I\'m your angel from above
And every heartfelt sentiment
Teaches my tiny heart all about love

Feeling each breath you take
And feeling your heart beat
I know you and Daddy need me
And I will make you both feel complete

Your kicks inside my tummy
Fill my heart with joy
Daddy talks to you about football
He thinks you’ll be a boy

But as we’ve chatted all this time
I’ve come to understand
That I was sent a baby girl
Straight from God’s own hand.

I can\'t wait to come out
So I can be held in your arms
Let me grab a hold of your finger
And you\'ll keep me safe from all harms

Teach me about life
Show me right and wrong
I want to be just like you
And Daddy so strong

Sweet baby, have patience
Grow strong and healthy
You will soon be allowed
To live with Daddy and me
