Precious Child

by Michael D Nalley   Dec 16, 2004

Dear friend; twice you have sought my silver, and gold
These are things of great worth, or so I am told
That you may know the joy of giving things that are bought, and sold
During a time of joy for everybody young, and old

But you know dear friend you have a vision in your soul of greater worth
I’m talking about the vision you will have in your eternal birth
You know I once felt the great joy, of Jesus whom gave sight to the blind
Remember you said gratefully to me thank you that was very kind

You know dear friend there are really two kinds of sight
One is the vision in your head that came to you that night
And said, I know your life is not easy, but trust Me and I will make it right
If you could only put your faith in Me, I will make your future very bright

Don’t feel alone dear friend, we all have needs and desires
If there are those who say they do not they are liars
Our passions can be a distraction from things that lift us higher
Without the help of the Holy One, it’s hard to put out that fire

Friendships are not about what lies secure in a bank
You know, for this truth you do not have me to thank
Do not think that I am angry, or even slightly mad
For if, Christ dwells within me that would make Him very sad

And as for your loved ones they deserve more than silver and gold
Share with them your vision of the greatest story ever told
If they come to know the vision you spoke of,
They will never put any price on love
Or the Child that was sent from above
