Nobody's Home

by Elizabeth Ruiz   Dec 16, 2004

Four walls surround me
A string connects my soul
I'm young but I'm weak
There's no light from the sun

Suddenly everything's dark
I'm not afraid
I know I'm not alone
I hear the sound of the rain

There's pain inside of me
I'm just gasping for breath
I asked you to help me
All you did was turn away

Crawling to reach out
I knock on your door
You looked at me in the eye
and said, Nobody's home

Never have I felt this way
Knowing no one cares
Knowing I am different
But so are all the rest

I felt so warm when I was here
safe and secure
Now I know it's not always like that
Until this day Nobody's home
