Our dearly beloved now departed

by Sinister Soire   Dec 18, 2004

The bombs they fall in steady rhythm
Moving ground and causing mayhem
Fathers dig to keep young safe
To take and keep the so young waif

The guns blare in constant cadence
Tearing flesh and bone in violence
Young boys who fight the war
And often never quit the corps

Grenades fall in random spurts
Shrapnel blowing where it hurts
Mothers try to keep them coming
So the boys can end the drumming

Slowly the blood strewn hills will dry
As battle ends and parents cry
Boys do not return from battle
Many slaughtered like simple cattle

The daughters left with out a home
Turn and find it comforting to roam
Lost in time with out their kin
They live and die with ultimate sin

The battles old, lost and won
Are over now they are all done
The new era of war has started
Our dearly loved now departed
