The New Girl

by Jackie Bilson   Dec 18, 2004

Have you seen the new girl?
Tossing her golden curls?
The one who smiles upon everything,
And everyone in this world?

Have you seen her clothes?
Her halter and mini skirt?
The way she looks so perfect,
Being her friend couldn't possibly hurt!

Have you seen her eyes?
The way the warmly look at you?
Then you introduce her to your boyfriend,
She's looking at him too.

"Merry Christmas!" she greets,
"You two are just too cute!
Always stay together, OK?
You two totally suit!"

You invite her to your party,
Of course that's where she'll be.
You go to call your boyfriend,
It's nine o'clock, where is he?

The party hushes over,
You hear people step in.
You see the new girl and your boy,
Wearing nervous grins.

"I'm sorry, I'm a bad friend..."
She says as she caresses his hand.
"I hope you'll forgive me,
But I'm sure you understand..."

But you don't understand,
Your face turns gray and grim.
The new girl stole your boyfriend,
After you introduced her to him.

The new girl will have to learn,
You can't treat people that way.
Because she crossed the wrong girl,
And I'm going to make her pay.

LOL. It's only half true...like for instance, I didn't really introduce her to him...or have a party...or...ok, well let's just say the truth has been streched A LOT. LOL. It's a good thing I got away from him anyway so I don't really feel as bad as I did. Staying with him would have been a very bad move, and I see that now. I just use that experience I had in my life to write most of my poems because, that's the most I've ever been hurt and the most I've ever been in love so, it's easier to write down on paper everything I felt. And you're right. A boyfriend that can be stolen is not worth keeping. I just have to keep reminding myself that whenever I get nostalgic.

    WoW!

This truly is quite the awesome piece. I found it entirely delectible and domineering. Fantastically written. Such a great story, and the last stanza is something truly to adore, and embelish in....Hehe...I hope theres a part 2.

    Merry Christmas. 5/5
