Walking through the streets I saw a mass of faces
Many people simply being, travelling to separate places
And yet as I walk further I see a man sat down
A man who’s never smiled at but only receives a frown
This man he seems so worn out and cast away
Not the sort of man who you’d talk to in your day
But for some reason I walk up next to him
And see that he is homeless, his eyes are rather dim
Yet he smiles at me and seems like a friendly man
I decide to smile back sweetly, just because I can
And then he seemed so happy, that someone had taken the time
To notice his existence and ask if he was fine
So when you see the homeless remember they are human
All they want is love and something to believe in
If you can take the time to smile and glance their way
I’m sure you’ll feel much better, and you’ll brighten up their day
