A Never Forgotten Christmas

by Unloved ♥   Dec 18, 2004

It was Christmas morning
Her face full of joy
Surrounded by presents

Everyone was having fun until the phone rang
It was her family that lived miles away
Her heart suddenly started to race
By looking at the expression her Mom had on her face

"Mom who is it!" she started to choke out
"It's your uncle dear, now is not the time to shout
Her face grew pale
As her father was anxious to know
Who it was and what was going on

Her Mom hung up and started to hug her father
Both of them were in tears
She was sad but so confused
"Mommy what happened what did my uncle say?"
"Honey come here, your grandma past away"

In tears she stormed off to her room
She chanted "Why GOD!? Why GOD!? what did I do, do you not love me..well I HATE YOU!"

She fell on the floor her head in her hands
Her mom raced to her room and put her in her arms
Its gonna be okay honey
Its gonna be okay
Trying to comfort her she kept running away

She got her Christmas presents and threw them at wall
What she wanted now was for her grandma to call
She never knew this would happen so soon
She'd pray to God everyday for her, looking up at the moon

I remember her big brown eyes would fill with joy
But now I'm afraid to speak to her
I know how she feels I've lost relatives too
When I see her I'll comfort her and tell her "Together during the rough times we'll make it through!"
Crying in each others arms
A Never ending hug
She has now been bitten by the depression bug

I've been through a lot
But not like her
She doesn't deserve all this pain
GOD WHY HER??!!
A couple tears run down and they fall upon the picture of her grandmother

*This poem I wrote for my cousin who lost her grandma on 12/14/04, may her grandmother rest in peace and may God comfort her each and everyday*please vote and comment, thanks*
