One Night Of Babysitting

I Thought It Would Be Fun
To Babysit For The Day
How Could I Be So Wrong
I Shouldve Said No Way

But Mum Was In A Hurry
And I Happily Agreed
I Bargained Over The Price
And A Great Price Indeed

Last Minute Instructions Came
And I Said I Could Easily Deal
Give This Cute Baby A Bath
Then Playtime And A Meal

Well Bath time Wasn't very Easy
I Couldn't Find The Rubber Duck
I Tried Every Toy I Could Find
But He Rejected Teddies And A Truck

A Whole Hour Latter
He Came Out Like A Prune
But After A Quick Meal
He'd Be In Bed Very Soon

The Bath Didn't Convince Me
That This Job Wasn't All Fun
It Wasn't All Hugs And Kisses
I Was Sure It Would be An Easy Run

The First Course Went Flying
He Didn't Like Veggies At All
I Then Tried Some Nice Fruit
But That Also Hit The Wall

I Tried A Vegemite Sand which
Which Ended Up All Over Me
At A Last Resort I tried Ice cream
Which He Smiled At And Ate Quite Happily

He Refused To Be Cleaned Up
After This Horrible Yucky Mess
I Was Soon Losing Patience
Every Part Was Put To The Test

So I Changed His Pajamas
Three Times Or Was It Four
How Can A Two Year Old Have A Favorite
This Night Didn't Make Sense Anymore

So I Tucked Him Into Bed
And Went To Switch On TV
After A Minute Or Two Of It
He Decided He Wanted To Join Me

I Told Him Sternly "Bedtime"
And Took Him Right Back To Bed
After Giving Me Every Cute Face
This Kid Was Screwing With My Head
Connor

After More Than 8 Times Of Trying
He Was Finally A Sleep To My Delight
I Couldn't Wait To Roll Over And Sleep
This Was One Very Hard Night

Mum Cam Home A Little Later
And Ask Me Was Everything OK
Should I Tell Her The Truth
What Would You Really Say

I Went To Say Never Again
Then She Handed Me The Money
Told Me How Great Her Night Was
And Said "I'm So Proud Of You Honey"

So I Replied With A Smile
"It Was A Piece Of Cake"
"I Cant Wait To Do It Again"
Thinking Of All The Money Ill Make

So I Went To Bed That Night
Thinking How Much i love that baby
Then It All Came To Me So Sudden
In One Night He'd Made Me crazy..
