Seeing is ‘Believing’

by Michael D Nalley   Dec 19, 2004

It’s said that, seeing is ‘believing’.
When our eyes are not so deceiving.
What are we seeing and perceiving?
Is it our sight that is misconceiving?

If seeing is believing’ and believing is binding
Then we must open our eyes to the truth we are finding
Stepping out of the darkness, the light can be blinding
Sometimes we forget what we see, and need reminding

We imagine what could be, or what could not be
But blinded by the light, sometimes we cannot see
We turn from the truth that will set us free,
Free from the lies, that lives in you and me

There is so much confusion it is difficult to get relief
Between the blinding light, and the one true light stolen by a thief
The only hope we have is to unite under one true belief
But it seems that knowledge of good and evil only causes grief

We hate and kill in the name of a religion
As the men of great power make the decision
Of what is wrong or right, while running from the light.
Blessed are the single hearted, for they shall see peace from above,
The merciful laughing face of the Lord in the light of Love
