A Soldier’s Elegy

by Ð맆îñ¥   Dec 19, 2004

I can’t see a thing.
The darkness devours me.
It smothers me.
I’m clad in black.

The light has left me,
Abandoned me.
I’m forsaken.
I’m empty.

To light a candle,
The purest light.
My hope renewed
I return to the fight.

Beautiful rhyming poem. Simple, yet meaningful. Your style reminds me of one of my friends' :) it's well written.
