Treated like I'm younger

The fact is, I'm a grown teenager
But people don't see that in me
They just treat me like I'm younger
I feel as if I'm overprotected
And there's nothing I can do to be stronger
I don't need to be put up on a pedestal
As we speak I'm getting older
And as hard as it may be to believe
I am also getting wiser
I know what I want
And I'm gon work for it
So why?
Why am I treated like I'm younger?
I don't need this from people
I'm a learner
I learn from my experiences
So let me go do what I wanna-I'll be happier
And then maybe one day
When I'm ready...I'll be smarter
And grow up to be a real woman
But for now
Don't treat me like I'm younger
Let me go-I'll be happier
