I remember

by Mark Hopwood   Dec 20, 2004

I remember long ago, when dreams were rife
When i was younger and still had a life
But now time rolls on
And all the dreams are gone.
I remember long ago, when kids played outside
Now everyone's a psycho so they all run and hide.

I remember long ago, I don't really you know
I remember walking along the road
I got stopped by a policeman who turned into a toad
I remember crossing the street
When i looked down i had 12 pairs of feet
I said f**k, wow and started to laugh
Then a man came along and took my photograph.

I went the shops one day
To buy a save-away
But the shop was shut so i went home
I went the shops again
this time it was in the rain
It was bloody closed... Again.
You can't get the staff these days
Just what are we to do?
Go to the job centre and pick someone out of the queue
Then buy some eggs, and a tin of spam
And put the bag over my head so nobody knows who I am.
