I WISH I COULD...
When I see those scars upon her arms,
I wish i could've held her tight that night,
and tell her that i love her,
that everything would be alright.

When I hear her scream and shout and swear,
I wish i had the strength to calm her down,
instead of walking away from her,
to a much safer and quieter ground.

When I know she's to tired to make it out of bed
I wish i could cure her chronic fatigue,
To make her who she was before it all,
The girl who doesn't hate the life she leads.

But when I hear her cry late at night,
I talk to God, and say a prayer,
I ask Him to show His love to her
and His comfort and Care.
