Salvation

by Michael D Nalley   Dec 20, 2004

Lord sometimes we forget Your living word
That is rarely understood, as it is heard
That is proclaiming the salvation we must embrace
The salvation that comes only through unmerited grace

But this teaching came from just a man
Who believes he understands Your plan
Lord, is he just a man, or a just man?
Understanding more than just a man can

Salvation belongs to You our God
All Praise to You and Your mighty rod
The just man does follow Your golden rule
Or a man follows the rules of a fool

Jesus gave his authority to just men,
According to Matthew, in chapter ten
Be as clever as a snake, innocent as a dove
To replace mans evil hatred, with God’s divine love

His justice is swift, but His mercy is full of beauty
And to the true children of God, this mercy is a duty
We may merit favor, but grace, is given, by our Lord
Because nothing washes our sin, but the blood He has poured
