Hoping

by Little Lisa   Dec 20, 2004

There is a big whole in the center of my heart,
I wish I could push rewind and begin again at the start,
I saw the spark that put fire in your eye
What it was over I really don't know why,
You yell all day, while I cried all night,
What is the deal with the stupid fights?
I cry in my room and sit all alone,
Just thinking of how short your temper has grown,
Your anger you don't know how to contain,
You just keep yelling and screaming until my ears are in pain,
You put a smile on for family and for your friends,
And I'm the only one that knows it's all in pretend,
I'm here every time to take out your frustrations on,
I wish sometimes you'd stop and think that maybe some day I might be gone,
But of course you don't you just yell and scream,
I'm waiting one day to wake up and find that it has all been a bad dream.
