I Couldn't Defeat Death Pt. 1

by Pinto Bean Power   Dec 21, 2004

*From the Point of view of a man.*

We were a family of doctors,
I had no time for friends.
There was only one woman who ever gave me a warm look...
A kind smile to the end...
And her name was Eliza.

She was very elegant,
Her fragrant of roses.
Very delicate,
Long blonde hair.
The eyes of a doe.

She suffered from an incurable disease.
That's the real reason I studied to hard.
That way she could play in the breeze,
Walk once in a while in her yard.

Finally, after twenty years,
I found the cure.
We were married,
and in love for sure.

I used all my savings,
To buy a house on a bluff.
I wasn't sure my money...
Would ever be enough.

It was big to start,
Sat where the grass was always green.
It showed her my love with all my heart,
And how nothing could come between.

You could see the water.
It was crystal blue,
A boat sat at the bottom,
But my how time flew.

Night time fell over our house,
I was reading in my study.
Suddenly, I heard her scream,
Then, everything was bloody.

I ran downstairs as fast as I could,
And I watched her fall too the floor.
Any sanity I had then,
Disappeared for sure.

She had a bullet in her head,
I turned to her killer.
One thought: He was dead!
The next thing was a thriller.

I heard Eliza gasp.
Deciding he could wait.
I whipped out my scalpel,
And wished I would have hurried to this date.

I called the cops,
Laid her in her bed.
She was buried the very next day,
I was left with dread.

I had to see My Dear Eliza again,
Even at the cost of my soul.
Finally, I found the thing...
That could make us whole.

Necromancy.

TBC.

*If anybody wants to know what happens to the killer and Eliza, stay tuned for part two. Oh! Necromancy is where someone uses witch craft to return souls to their skeletons and brings them back to life. Think Grim Reaper only no long shadowy black robes*
