Night time

by Sara   Dec 21, 2004

I'm locked in a box without a key,
my soul is dying and wants to be free.
Like a bird ready to set a flight,
I stare into the empty sky of the dark night.
As I wonder how long till I'm better,
my tears fall, my face getting wetter and wetter.

A warm shower erases the evidence away,
with no way out I push forward to a new day.
I question my purpose and why I'm here,
but I walk around with my plastered grin from ear to ear.
No one but I can tell my fake appearance,
so I search and search to find my long awaited clearance.

Finding contentment is not the easiest task,
my true side is somewhere, just hiding behind this mask.
The littlest things turn into such a boulder,
a heavy weight no longer resting easily on my shoulder.
I've waited for my angel, the light from above,
the stars in the midnight sky reveal my key…love.
