Little box

by Tamara   Dec 21, 2004

A little box kept in the floor of my closet

holds memories of the life i had with you locked away

locked away where they cannot be forgotten
locked away where they'll always stay

the pictures may fade
the flowers may wither
and the ink from the letters may dry

but that little box holds more tears than you'll ever know i cried
and more emotion than you'd ever think possible

only now when i think of how it all ended
i dont cry so hard, or get so angry

i know a part of me will always love you
if for nothing more than the inspiration your life had on mine

Iv come to terms that it happened for a reason
even if that reason isnt so clear

When that little box gets to warn out to have around
and its belongings to old to keep

maybe i'll place it in the ground
it's final resting place, never again to be disturbed

the little box may someday be gone
but the memories, will always be there
tucked away in the deepest parts of my heart just the same
