Gangrene

by Stumbling Shaman   Dec 21, 2004

Pieces of you keep rotting away
But you don't seem to notice, or to care
About the fetid trail you leave
Remnants of a tattered soul gladly torn out
To mark your path to where you wish to be

I know you understand that we are all of One Mind
It only makes it worse that you choose to be blind
Using your knowledge to keep others down
Revealing just a little, twisting it just enough
To hold their minds in a cage, eyes to the ground
Obscuring the true extent of your decay

You seem to believe that evolving
Involves divesting your humanity
Conscience and compassion are replaced
By coldly calculated cruelty
If how we treat others is what makes us human
Then of you I have my doubts
How much more of yourself must you lose
Before you cut it out?

Another one of your poems leave me speechless again. I don't know how you do it. You put everything you have into your words and it is in a way that really makes people think! Great!
