My little child!

by samuel   Dec 21, 2004

Hear again the sobs
Perceive the demure
Weep with him
My little child.

Long past and fearing
Today like days gone by
Hoping yet unseeing
It was my little child.

Oh my little child you speak
Silent volumes of painful misery
The hardship and gloom
I see all.

The lessons are not lost to us
Posterity will know them still
If I take you out of my sight
I cannot remove you from my mind.

The compassion in my heart for the suffering children of my continent show that I care deeply for them.
