Freak

by Jesse Lafferty   Dec 21, 2004

What’s in a freak?
A beating heart
That grows weak
To fall apart
What’s in this land?
Freedom? Sovereignty?
A blood soaked hand
Strangling he
Where’s the freak?
Hidden away
As the world grows bleak
To die one day
Where’s the land?
Another ice-tipped building
For one more rich man
To make a killing
Don’t forget the freak
As he lay frozen on the sidewalk
Begged his last beg this week
His words written for all to talk
With his last might
He tries to write
Don’t trust land
I was foolish enough
To listen to the rich man
Who robbed me to make it tough
My money gone
My eyes frozen shut
My spirit will live on
I’ll be lifted up
Into a blissful heaven
Where I’ll be home
Never called a freak again
Never will I be alone
